Over the course of painting this Dalmatian species of pelican, I truly fell in love with him and his character. Using only four pigments, with one strictly being used for the beak, the overall composition is cohesive with the beak adding color and contrasting against the deep black of the background. Each section of the feathers are painted with a different style, shape, and gradient adding to the character of the piece. Feel free to connect with me for any questions.
